Masha Pearl is a philanthropist, mother, and businesswoman. As the Executive Director of The Blue Card, she leads its national efforts to provide direct financial assistance to more than 3,000 Holocaust survivor households living at or below the poverty line. The Blue Card was founded in 1934 in Germany by the Jewish community there to help those that had already started seeing restrictions on business, employment, and other types of oppression by the Nazis. It was established once again in 1939 in the United States to help those that had escaped the persecution. Today, under the leadership of Masha Pearl, The Blue Card has become active in 35 states and impresses with a stellar record and have been praised by both lawmakers and media outlets. The Blue Card has provided more than $30 million to thousands of survivors for medical, dental, food, telephone emergency response systems, cancer care, home care services, hospital visits and transportation expenses.

Since becoming Executive Director, Masha has helped to leverage donor support to increase the charity’s annual operating budget by 40%. Masha’s philanthropic efforts have led The Blue Card to receive The Independent Charities of America’s Best in America Seal of Excellence, as well as a four-star rating by Charity Navigator and accreditation by the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance.  

A mother of two young children, she engages in work that address family issues and is active on both of her children’s Parent Teacher Associations as well as serving on the boards of the New York Foundation for Eldercare and North American Friends of AMCHA. Masha is an Adjunct Professor at Baruch College in New York City.  

Masha was voted one of New York City’s 20 Most Significant Young Philanthropists by The Observer in 2014 and Jewish Week’s 36 Under 36 list. 

She holds a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Law from Binghamton University and an MBA from Pace University.
